Monkey Quartermaster - Character Design

For this personal project I created some characters of a hypothetical pirate crew. The pirate crew I imagined comes from a planet that has been plundered of all its resources, brought to its knees by war and disease. Pirates travel the galaxy on a spaceship in search of riches/resources to seize in order to survive. I then imagined that these space pirates were cyborgs with mechanical prostheses, in some cases repaired with pieces of makeshift, and I thought of giving them a somewhat steampunk design.
He is the quartermaster of the crew, oversees the supplies and objects stored on the ship, has a crate with provisions and a barrel, from which he sips the rum to be distributed to the crew. I wanted him to have an animalistic aspect and I considered different animals (even the boar or some reptile), in the end I chose the gorilla.
