Plant based character - protagonist of my hypothetical story

This is the boy I imagined as the protagonist of my hypothetical story. I wanted him to look like a guy who's used to living and getting by on his own. I wanted his slightly wild appearance to create a contrast with the co-star who is instead a delicate flower and who I imagine therefore has more refined manners. Beyond his being a little rough, I imagined that this character was a pure soul, a naive, genuine, generous, spontaneous, savage and adventurous, selfless little boy, like the heroes of Miyazaki so to speak. The main inspirations for this character were Conan, Peter Pan, Mowgli, Goku.
